Draw Action: 250 Ways to Get Movement into Your Drawings - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

What is a cartoon-style drawing without any kind of action? What is a cartoon that doesn't tell us a story? The way to express movement and action in a cartoon is quite different from drawing in a life class. And that's what this book is all about.

Cartoonist and illustrator Carlos Gomez Cabral shares his toolkit of tips and tricks: simplicity, rhythm, line of action. Sometimes it's how you position a shadow, use a speed line, or exaggerate an expression. Carlos applies these and other tips to dozens of different subjects, showing how you can bring your drawing to life on the page.

Your dream could be to make animations or draw for action comics, video games, or graphic novels, whatever the genre, whatever your art style, whether you are doing it digitally or with a good old-fashioned pencil, this book gives you the skills you need.

Features include good and bad examples set next to each other, Carlos shows how a tweak here or there can change the dynamics of a drawing for the better. Plus 7 guest illustrators with different styles take up residence on several pages to share their methods.
