The young Dwarf gazed up at the overfilled shelf in the booksellers, the faint dust settling in the morning sunbeams as the last sounds of the bell hanging above the door finished ringing out his arrival. The bookseller appeared silently behind him, a soft grin on her face.
“I want the very best book!”, he announced proudly, eyeing the shiniest most popular among them. “I’ve been saving up.”
The bookseller watched his face for a moment, then reached a higher shelf to find a much less assuming tome. “The very best books of all,” she began, handing it to the boy, “are not always the most expensive or well known. In the Guardians’ Tale you will find adventure and heroes, people to fall in love with, and some to hate. This may well be the greatest story ever told.” She saw his eyes widen as she spoke. “Best of all,” she smiled, “Every word of it truly happened.”
“Contains over 30 amazing pieces of original artwork by the renowned dark-elven artist, Pyrhaaa.”
“Best new non-human author in generations.” -- The Yrdin Leaf
“Of course, Albion Quill is the most famous Gnome to have ever lived. But if Albion the Bard keeps up this level of storytelling, he may well surpass his namesake in popularity.” -- The Ferdengard Press
“Unquestionably the best, most complete, telling of the tales of the Guardians. This will stand as the definitive source for all Bards.” -- Wardenian Bardic Guildmaster
