Inhaltsangabe

A unique gift and engaging resource for dog lovers, shelters, foster caregivers and animal advocates.

Positive exposure can make a major difference for animals waiting to be adopted. Adventures with Adoptable Dogs shows shelters, foster caregivers and pet-adoption advocates how thoughtful social-media posts can help potential adopters see the personality of a dog rather than simply another listing.

Photographer Rachael Rodgers pairs practical advice on online promotion with playful photographs and profiles of dogs encountered through shelters. The book considers the use of images, captions, hashtags, geotags and other social-media tools while keeping the individual animal at the centre of the story.

Part practical guide and part gift book, Adventures with Adoptable Dogs is designed for people working to improve adoption outcomes as well as readers who simply enjoy funny, expressive and highly individual dogs.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Rachael Rodgers is an artist, dog lover, and nature seeker. Over the last two years, she has volunteered with a variety of different animal rescue organizations and taken hundreds of adoptable dogs on adventures before showcasing them on social media. She draws from a background in photography, business, and psychology to profile each dog’s individual character online for optimal exposure while conspicuously omitting any mention of their breed. Her work with adoptable dogs has been featured in local, national, and international news. Rachael strongly believes that social media can make the adoption process faster and more efficient by helping adopters make better-informed decisions. She offers social media consults to shelters and is dedicated to helping the world see what kind of amazing dogs are currently without a home and improving the way our society views pets. Rachael lives in Canmore, Alberta.
