Benedict Walker nació en Newcastle, Australia, y creció en los barrios de las afueras, pasando los fines de semana que podía y los largos veranos en la playa. Aunque siente una atracción especial por el tipo de montañas que encontró en las Rocosas de Canadá y en los Alpes japoneses y suizos, la playa la lleva en la sangre. Su primera colaboración para Lonely Planet fue Japón, en el 2008, y ha tenido la buena fortuna de volver al país para LP otras tres veces. Se puede decir que está viviendo su sueño, aunque la vida del viajero tiene sus momentos buenos y malos. Titulado en Comunicación y agente de viajes de profesión, Ben recorrió el planeta entre los 20 y los 30. Habla japonés perfectamente y también ha escrito y dirigido una obra teatral; ha hecho gira por Australia como responsable de logística de transporte de importantes festivales de música y está experimentando de nuevo con la fotografía y el cine. John Lee nació en Gran Bretaña y se mudó a Columbia Británica en la década de 1990 para estudiar en la Universidad de Victoria. Originario de Hampshire, Inglaterra, Brendan Sainsbury lleva 20 años viajando a Cuba como guía y escritor de viajes.
