Book two in a trilogy of handbooks on what you need to KNOW, what you need to DO and HOW to do it.

For people who are serious about leading great teams

Did you know? Research shows 75% of business teams fail. We struggle to form teams.

Why do we find team building so hard? Admittedly, it's tough getting adults with different agendas, blind spots and opinions to perform tasks together, but it's also true that we don't take the art of team building seriously enough. Doctors and lawyers train for seven years, but how long have you and your teammates spent learning to build teams? One day? Two? Less? How does that make sense when teams are the key to combining people's talents?

It doesn't. But how do we end the status quo? After 35 years' experience in leading and coaching teams, James Scouller, author of the self-help manual for leaders, The Three Levels of Leadership, offers breakthrough answers. Using easy-to-read concise language he sets out the psychological keys, action principles and road maps to team success, continuing with his Seven-Principle action model. In this —the second in a trilogy of short handbooks brimming with stories, penetrating insights, models and tools — you'll learn what you need to do:

  • Craft a motivating team goal with your teammates.
  • Grow yourself as a leader.
  • Create group unity (including the much-talked-about psychological safety).
  • Find out and attend to what makes your teammates "tick".
  • Deliver task progress and results.
