CARL W. KENNEY II is author of Preacha' Man and the sequel Backslide. He was named North Carolina's top serious columnist by the North Carolina Press Association and is a contributor to The Washington Post, The Religious News Services, Sojourner Magazine and numerous other publications. Born in Columbia, Missouri, he is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Duke University, the Divinity school and was named a Fellow in Pastoral Leadership and Development at the Princeton Theological Seminary. He lives in Durham, North Carolina where he enjoys life with his three adult children.
