The Ten Day Edit: A Writer's Guide to Editing a Novel in Ten Days (The Ten Day Novelist, Band 3) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Editing a novel can feel like being trapped in a leaky boat. For every plot hole you plug, a dozen new ones spring open.

And it feels like it’s only a matter of time before you sink entirely.

Many first-time authors finish their manuscript, only to find themselves drowning in a sea of edits. Unlike planning and writing a story, the path to editing success can be a lot less clear. Should you start from chapter one and go from there? Begin with deeper edits and work backwards? Or ask for feedback from your writing friends?

Enter The Ten Day Edit.

Most self-editing books provide you with all of the tools but very few instructions on how to actually use them. In this step-by-step guide for new authors, developmental editor Lewis Jorstad bucks this trend by giving you the exact strategies you need to navigate the four unique phases of the editing process.

Using this structured ten-day system, you will:

• Find your focus with an editing game plan, custom-built for your story.
• Strengthen your manuscript with advanced storytelling techniques.
• Discover how following the four phases of editing creates clarity throughout the revision process.
• Learn how to work with beta readers, critique partners, and professional editors to hone your writing skills.
• Perfect your prose, craft a tantalizing opening line, choose an eye-catching title and more.
• Create a professional-quality novel ready to share with the world!

Packed with daily tasks, easy-to-follow prompts, and handy checklists to track your progress, The Ten Day Edit takes new fiction authors from inspiration to action. By the end, you’ll have mastered the self-editing process and done your story justice!

Ready to cut through the overwhelm? It’s time to revise your novel with confidence with The Ten Day Edit!
