His given name is Agastia - in Vedic language. In vernacular it is Agastian. It becomes Agastiar for showing reverence and respect which is in fact the plural form. Believe it or not, Agastiar and Vasishtar are the first twin babies grown outside the womb of their mother in the world! The Hindu scriptures had elaborated up on it.
