American backpacker Cian MacAnnadh is visiting Stonehenge in England when he is struck by lightning. When he regains consciousness he finds himself lying in a rocky ravine on a mysterious planet where a group of humans was dumped some three thousand years earlier by an advanced alien race. The people lead a somewhat Utopian existence but are challenged from time to time by their abductors who treat them like pawns in some intergalactic game.
