Educating a Diverse Multicultural Society is intended as a reader for students, teachers, parents, and those interested in educational issues. The topics covered are based on the changing demographics of the USA, primarily due to immigration from countries that are no longer limited to the European continent, but now inclusive of all continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America), Central America, and the Caribbean Region. At this critical point in history, it is necessary that educators, teachers, professors, policy makers, politicians, and every one concerned about environmental, and global issues, international relationships, and world safety all take a stand for culturally appropriate education. To do so means embracing diversity in all its forms --age, ethnicity, race, religion, countries of origin, languages, colors, and creed—in order to appreciate what skills, knowledge, and expertise diversity brings.
