The third Sea Dogs' adventure of Spike, Solo, and Mittens leads them back to the uncharted island with Poquito and Pedro to recover Queen Esmerelda's treasure. However, the pirates have beat them to it. Accompanied by Rat, whom they find on the island, they set out after the pirates. They sail to Black Dog Island, a place of mystery and turmoil. Here they encounter a wicked prince, a noble princess, and other characters who help or hinder them on their quest. A surprising turn of events leads to a happy outcome, and Solo finally gets to head home --at least for a while.
