This manual is a step by step pattern book that is designed to teach new fly patterns and new fly tying techniques. These flies are for selective trout and other fish. Class is 6 weeks long and each pattern may use techniques from the previous patterns that you learned in previous weeks. I am assuming that you have tied flies before and learn the basics of fly tying, such as the pinch method, tying wings and tails on a dry fly, dubbing and basic thread control. I feel that practice is the best way to perfect your fly tying skills. So please practice these patterns as you learn them. Weeks 1, 4 and 6 we tie two flies in the class. The techniques for those weeks are the same with just a small difference between each flyI feel the import part of this class is to learn new ideas and have fun. But if you want to make the most out of this class, please practice each pattern before coming to the next class.
