Pat was born in 1919 and today she turns 100. Each morning she recites the alphabet backwards and reads out her favourite poem ‘Daffodils’ - she really is an amazing lady. To celebrate this remarkable birthday Pat's grandson has written this book to share her wonderful memories. Having seen so much change over the years, this story gives an insight for young children to see what life used to be like and how your age is only a number when it comes to new experiences and having fun. Pat grew up at a time when there was little technology and life on her family farm was simple. She overcame obstacles including spending time in a wheelchair as a child but still managed to fulfil her dream of being a nurse. As she grew older she had some great adventures with her family and when she was almost 90 she was still able to go on holiday to Amsterdam and even fly in a light aircraft! Connecting young readers to our older family members so they can learn and understand the importance of creating their own memories for years to come.
