This is the 17th book in the series of short stories set in the period 1954 to 1998. The tales are loosely based on a real character PC John Morris, who was known to the residents on his patch as Big Ears in the 1950’s. Then he was a Local Community Police Officer working out of a Police House in Friar Park. He was larger than life character & someone that we all respected, they didn’t call him Big Ears for nothing. Later on in his career he risers through the police ranks & ends his career at the Commissioner at New Scotland Yard. He retires from the Metropolitan Police Force in 1989, he then becomes a Consultant Private Inspector. Now in this story set in 1998 Professor Sir. John Morris is the Head of Department at the Cambridge Institute of Criminology. All of the stories including this one are fictitious.
