Mizner’s plans ended with the collapse of Florida’s real estate boom. He died in 1933, broken and bankrupt.

Caroline Seebohm’s works include illustrated books, magazine articles, biographies, and a memoir. As a senior writer and freelancer for House and Garden, her sense of style and knowledge of the history of the decorative arts has kept her in demand as an authority on traditional English and American decorating and decorators. She lives in Titusville, New Jersey.
