A spoiled twelve year old boy is left by accident on a small island. If he is to survive, he must do so without modern tools and while being injured. Unwittingly, he comes into contact with people on the island practicing weird rituals and superstitions. Those superstitions nearly cost the life of a thirteen-year old aboriginal girl. He saves her using a trick he has devised. Together, they build a shelter, and they experience all kinds of adventures. She falls in love with him, but keeps it a secret. As a result of her love, she must face a difficult decision. The author was born in 1943 in Apeldoorn. After his training and performing military service, he opened his own driving school for several years. He then obtained his police diploma. While working for the police, he held various positions. He also provided safety training for businesses and for driving instructors. He wrote several textbooks on the topic. He wrote the book "The drowning man," to encourage his grandchildren to read.
