The Red Paw Rescue Team is an enthusiastic mixture of humans and animals who set off on amusing adventures around the world to help animals in distress. The books are light-hearted, illustrated children's stories that also contain an element of education in terms of the habits and locations of the animals in need of help. The 4 human team members are ably assisted by Henry the Silverback Gorilla, Rufus the Orang Utan pilot, Angus McScratchy the Highland Terrier, Susie Squirrel and Fernando the Toucan. From their island base, the team listens out for Sad signals from around the world and then spring into action. They follow their Sad Nav to find the animal in distress and then work out how best they can help. Poor Betty is an Emperor Penguin in the Antarctic who wishes she could find a quicker way to bring fish all the way from the sea to feed their hungry and playful chicks. The distance and some rather unhelpful little penguins, seals and killer whales are making life quite difficult. Can the team come up with a clever solution?
