Discover how the study of birds shapes our world, from inspiring aviation and airfield design to increasing safety in the skies. Full of photos, case studies, fun facts, and interactive elements, this STEM exploration reveals a fascinating field of science to kids.

Kristine Rivers spent her childhood in a small Texas town enjoying nature and learning about birds and wildlife. As an adult, she loves sharing her passion with people of all ages, encouraging them to slow down and have fun as they observe the world around them. In 2015 she founded Birding for Fun, offering guided tours, workshops, and family-friendly events embracing her philosophy that birding should be accessible to everyone. She is a proud Texas Master Naturalist and served as president of her local chapter from 2017 to 2019. She lives with her husband and several cats in that same small Texas town, creating driftwood art when she's not out exploring. You can find her at BirdingForFun.com.
