Leadership is the ability to effectively manage and guide someone to perform a particular task. The cliché that "some leaders are born while some leaders are made" still holds true. It is also believed in our contemporary world that "a leader is a reader". It then follows that leaders are made when they read. As long as you are reading this book, you are a leader in every sense of it. Leaders create an inspiring vision of the future. Leaders help to motivate young minds. Leaders are team players. Since, there is no leadership without a follower-ship. Hence one of the basic qualities of a leader is ability to interact efficiently with people. That means, a leader needs people. For example, when you start a new a new project; you have a vision, you have enthusiasm and drive. You really want the project to be a success. The success of the project is dependent on the people who constitute your team. Since you cannot work on the project as a loner. Therefore, a leader must learn how to work with people. One of the key ways to achieve this is through expectation. 1.The expectation that hard work leads to good results.2.The expectation that good results lead to attractive rewards or incentives. People are motivated to work hard to achieve success because they expect to enjoy rewards. Also, leaders can motivate and influence people through their natural charisma and appeal. Some of the time, leaders do not need to pressurize people to believe in the vision or to follow the course. People would naturally follow you because your aura inspires them. However, good leaders do not rely too much on their natural instinct to lead. They are actively and consciously involved in the lives of the people they administer. Leadership is not the ability to wield power over and above people. Leaders do not accumulate power, they distribute power. Leaders learn to leverage on man-power. They learn to assign duties and functions to their subordinates.
