A seventy-year-old writer is plagued by dreams of a sexy female vampire. He’s afraid he’s having another psychotic break from reality. Afflicted by psychosis in college fifty years ago, he tries to figure out what is sucking the life out of him, by journaling daily. Blood represents passion and life force. Vampires only come out at night, to feed on the souls and bodies of human victims. The protagonist does not like what he sees in the mirror. He wonders if vampires have reflections in the mirror? What do these dreams mean? Why do they come to haunt him every night? Day-by-day he delves deeper into his psyche while taking the reader on a trip through history, politics, physical exertion, sexual pleasure and a panoply of thought processes describing his life and times. He’s hoping for redemption. He’s hoping for answers to life’s questions. Finally, he’s hoping for absolution. We all do at the end of our life’s journeys, don’t we?
