"We can't preclude that Catholics should be awakened by the words of the German bishop of Nur-Sultan. After all, what does it matter where the Truth can be heard and from where it reaches a person? The important thing is to describe clearly and without prevarications the same rule of faith always and everywhere. The same rule as in the first centuries of Christianity and in the times of Communist persecutions. It must be the same measure by which we can and should judge everything. The reader will be thejudge of how well the most important thoughts of Bishop Schneider, the result of many years of reflection on the condition of the Catholic faith, have been captured in this book. I was edified by his words. Yes, he often expresses strong and undiluted opinions. Many may call them "controversial," but I would avoid that, because today we often label as controversial that which is right, which the world doesn't want to hear. When you have walked with him all the way, when you have reached the end, you will be encouraged-as was I. It's obvious that here is someone who takes the Faith seriously, someone who is guided by regard for God rather than regard for man. And that is why what he is saying can be the springboard of hope. My conversation with Bishop Schneider took place over several days in early February of 2020. The coronavirus pandemic had not begun, nor did we know the exact text of the papal exhortation Querida Amazonia. I received the bishop's answers to these questions in April and incorporated them into the text of chapters 1 and 2"--
