Inhaltsangabe

For  Salona Travis, a young black girl sliding into morass of trouble in Chicago, the opportunity to go to the Virgin Islands was a chance at life. And leap at that chance with a vengeance bred of that Wonderful combination of sensitivity which is often wasted on the young.

In the paradise that is the Virgin Islands, Salona finds hope. Enduring emotions as turbulent as the sea in a hurricane. Salona is able to ride out her inner storm. Then her innate sense are awakened to the beauty that is nature, and her maturing vision and good sense help her to preserve the natural bounties of the people and the land around her.

Salona Travis in the Virgin Islands is a good contemporary tale about black people written by native Virgin Islander. But it turns out to be more than fiction. Finally it is expression of the values people of all colors and races hold dear. It is a book for all of us.
