Hope in a Chaotic World: First and Second Thessalonians - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Refresh your hope through Paul’s message to the early church with one of the great Christian leaders of the twentieth century.

The world feels chaotic. It’s hard to navigate so many challenges and uncertainties. But we are not alone. Even the earliest followers of Jesus faced opposition. The apostle Paul endured rioting and threats when he preached the gospel in Thessalonica, but he pointed the emerging church in that city to the hope they had in Christ.

Beloved pastor Ray C. Stedman leads you with warmth and wisdom through 1 and 2 Thessalonians, uncovering spiritual truths that are vital for Christians today:

• Jesus’s love is what transforms our attitudes and actions
• Faith enables us to turn to what is best
• God’s work amid our trials is the source of our joy
• The Holy Spirit gives us the courage we need to spread His Word
• And Christ coming again is our ever-present and ultimate hope

Stedman writes, “Christians have no business being discouraged, defeated, or despairing.” Despite the chaos we see in our world, Jesus is leading, fulfilling, and guarding His children, and His kingdom reigns even now. “Surely, in our dark hour of history, God is calling us back to the fundamentals of the Christian life—faith, hope, and love.”

Whether exploring 1 and 2 Thessalonians on your own or with others, Stedman’s insights will deepen your faith in Jesus. This updated edition of Hope in a Chaotic World is perfect for anyone looking to learn more about the early church and the rich teaching of Paul’s letters.
