Inhaltsangabe

This is not a scientific treatise on counseling, say Holland and Nelson, but describes a counseling attitude and explores how speech-language pathologists and audiologists can enrich their clinical practice using specific skills and technologies that incorporate that attitude. It also has a strong theoretical orientation in positive psychology and wellness. Their topics include counseling in clinical practice, communication counseling with parents of children with or at risk for disability, counseling issues with children who have communication disorders, communication counseling with adult clients and their families for whom progression is toward deterioration, and teaching resilience and optimism in families and individuals.
