Becky Hanson, of Nashville, Tennessee, is the education manager for Singer Sewing Company. She designs instructional projects for the company and teaches machine-sewing techniques nationwide. She is also the on-camera talent for Singer's various spots on cable TV home-shopping programs and is the host of a new series of Singer machine instructional DVDs.

Beth Baumgartel (Madison, CT) has written for Vogue, Butterick, the Home Sewing Association, Family Craft Circle, and others. She is also the author of SINGER\u00ae Simple Decorative Machine Stitching.
