Inhaltsangabe

After it happened, my marriage only lasted two more months. Janine? She would tell me, some fifty times a day, that it wasn't really my fault. But she never looked in my eyes once, each time she said it. And by mid-February, she was gone. Time is of the essence, and in these eighteen stories from acclaimed dark fantasy writer Tony Richards the essence of time is the link that pulls his characters together. Richards explores the nature of reality and perception filtered through the lens of time; examines how our decisions can lead us down unsettling paths, and however carefully we make our choices they can still contain strange consequences, even tragic ones. A man becomes trapped within a never-ending day, another tries to prevent a child's death by returning to the past. Two others explore enforced loneliness and blind computer dating, each with terrifying results. Nine rocks predict the end of the world, and a beautiful stranger continues to exist even though her time is at an end. Meanwhile, non-existent cats play havoc with a bewildered couple's life, as mortality nudges at our shoulders, drawing ever closer. If only time was more flexible. Which way would you turn the clock, forward or back?. NOTA: El libro no está en español, sino en inglés.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Tony Richards was born just outside of London, England. He won a scholarship to a top private school before going on to study law at college. And the three-year course utterly convinced him of one thing ... he absolutely did not want to be a lawyer. So he started writing stories when he was not studying, and sold his first one shortly after graduating. His most recent novels from established publishers are TROPIC OF DARKNESS (Schusters), UNDER THE ICE and HOT BLOOD (both from Samhain), and most recently his first ever full-blown crime thriller, THE DESERT KEEPS ITS DEAD (Telos). He's also the author of more than 100 short stories, enough to fill 7 collections -- the latest being THE UNIVERSAL AND OTHER TERRORS (Dark Renaissance Press) -- and his work has appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, Asimov's SF, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Weird Tales and numerous top anthologies including Year's Best Horror. When not writing, he's a movie buff, a not bad cook, likes fishing (when the weather is good) and practices the ancient art of t'ai chi. He's also very fond of travel, which becomes apparent when you read his work ... his stories are set in the Far East, in Africa, all over the Americas, and in many of the other countries he has visited.
