"Old Man Gun is a traditional shoot-em-up tale in the classic Western genre, yet with intriguing plot twists. Written by a strong new voice, it has compelling characters plus an exciting and engaging story." EA Bundy, author of The Pigeon Catcher. EXCERPT: There is much that I do not remember from that long ago time, but there are many events I can never forget. One remains clearest of all—the image of a strange old gunfighter. In my mind, he stands there still, straddle-legged, his coat tucked back out of the way of his pistol, and that menacing look in his eye that cut right through whatever shape of fool was stupid enough to exchange lead with him.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
As a small boy, Wes Applegate sat entranced, listening to the stories his maternal great grandmother told about her husband being threatened by Billy the Kid. As if that were not enough, Wes’ paternal grandfather homesteaded in eastern Oregon as a boy. One of Wes’ fondest memories is of traveling with his grandfather and a great uncle to examine the big round barn and other historic sites of that region. Wes had additional ancestors who worked for the famed Oregon cattle baron Pete French, which likely accounts for the sense of adventure and pioneering spirit that flows through Wes’ veins. It seems only natural that Westley D. Applegate has become a writer of noteworthy western novels.
