Five Stories From the World of Argaea In "Jherik's Tale," meet a young cougar noble, frustrated with his family, as he finds peace in affection from an unlikely source. Follow everyone’s favorite weasel around in "Helfer's Busy Day" as he goes from avoiding trouble to hanging pantsless from a window ledge. Then travel to Helfer’s homeland, where a masseur-otter at a busy spa receives unexpected "Birthday Wishes" from the royal party visiting the area. Peek into the early days of Volle’s son in "Yilon's Journal" and find out what happened before “Shadow of the Father.” And last, experience an all-new story of Argaea. In "Stolen Away," a young wolf chafing at the duties his father imposes on him falls in with a rat thief and spends a night stealing, running, climbing--and other things. But the big city of Divalia holds many surprises, and some things are not what they seem. Others, unfortunately, are.

This book extends the world of Argaea, with stories presented in chronological order:
"Jherik's Tale" was an early story of Argaea, about a cougar noble dissatisfied with his life. It takes place during or just after "Volle."
"Helfer's Busy Day" was an experiment in serial storytelling that I quite enjoyed the outcome of; it takes place between "Volle" and "The Prisoner's Release." At the end of each chapter, I let readers decide by vote what Helfer would do next, and one lucky reader even got himself into the story!
"Birthday Wishes," a short story, takes place during "Pendant of Fortune."
"Yilon's Journal" was an introductory journal I wrote leading up to "Shadow of the Father."
"Stolen Away" is a new story, not connected to any of the others, which will be extended into a novel at some point in the future...
