Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Jonathan N. Johnson, MD, FAAP is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he is the Chair of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Medical Director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program. Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from Wayne State University in 2005. He completed training in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in 2008, and subsequently went on to complete subspecialty training in Pediatric Cardiology at Mayo in 2011. He also serves as co-director of CME programs for the Department of Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic, and has a particular interest in medical education, symposium and meeting development, and outreach to primary care physicians and nurses.


Deepak Kamat, MD, PhD, FAAP is professor of pediatrics, vice chair for academic affairs and chair of the promotion and tenure committee for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio. Prior to this he served as the professor of pediatrics, the vice chair of education in the department of pediatrics at Wayne State University and Designated Institutional Official for the Children's Hospital of Michigan from 2003 to 2019.
Dr Kamat has authored and co-authored over 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts, review articles, book chapters and case reports. He serves on the editorial board of three journals and is an ad hoc manuscript reviewer for many journals. He is editor of 7 books and currently serves as the editor-in-chief of Pediatric Care Online, an on-line resource of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr Kamat is active in multiple national and international medical societies. Currently he serves on the planning committee of National Conference and Exhibition of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
