May our thoughts become the "prisoners of war" of Christ. Then, and only then, are we really free--for real freedom is never the right to do what we please. That is imprisonment. It eventually shackles each of us to our own individual world of self-centeredness and wants. But real freedom is the liberty to do what is right. We have that freedom when we are united to God. Then we have His spirit, who gives us His character of righteousness, and we have His instructions, which give us His standards of right and wrong conduct. That truly liberates us to be and do what God wants us to be and do.
