Inhaltsangabe

The Book of Terrorism is an engaging analysis of terrorism by forensic psychologist and professor of forensic psychology, Reuben Vaisman-Tzachor. Here he explains the dangers that come from the accepted wisdom concerning the terrorist mindset and the kinds of attacks terrorist organizations are truly capable of. Misconceptions regarding both have allowed for the development of anti-terrorism programs that the author describes as being heavily flawed. Vaisman-Tzachor comes down hard on those who promise to keep people safe from terrorist attacks yet don't truly understand the dangers they are trying to avoid. Through a combination of personal observations, retold anecdotes, and detailed analyses, he criticizes them for their pursuit of strategies which misunderstand terrorism.Vaisman-Tzachor provides a clear and compelling argument for changing the way we both think about and approach terrorism. With events like 9/11 and the uprisings in the Middle East so fresh in our minds, The Book of Terrorism comes at a time when the world has come together to combat terrorists and push them out of their seats of power. It warns, however, that until the terrorist that is not as easy to recognize has been eliminated, terrorism will not be a thing of the past.
