Menn introduces psycholinguistics, the study of how the human brain processes, understands, and creates speech. The textbook is organized in ten large sections, each discussing a specific component of psycholinguistic study. Topics covered include the psycholinguistics of reading and learning to read; using psycholinguistics in testing, teaching, and therapy; analyzing aphasic speech and communication: the psycholinguistics of adult acquired language disorders; and normal speech errors and how they happen. Several illustrations are included, such as a diagram of the human mouth and speaking parts. Each section of text includes an introduction and conclusion. The textbook ends with a comprehensive glossary of important terms and phrases. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
