Bookman Publishing is proud to announce Native Sun written by Stan Renfro. A work in the lyric lineage of Dickinson and Wordsworth, this poem includes three events: concourse of a comet by a star, a mother wanes, and a dog etherealizes.Native Sun's readers will explore the meaning of a comet's course around a star. Hale-Bopp in 1996-97 inspired many of us to look up. Consuelo affirms, for aging baby-boomers, a maturing mother-son bond, even as the bodies living it weaken. And a dog's death touches the kinship with other species that we must feel, for Earth's biodiversity to prevail. A primal love that is free supersedes all that is commercial. This poem has a universality that tags a blue planet as our own.
