Mark Hyman, M.D., was educated at Cornell University and the University of Ottawa Medical School.

Mark Liponis, M.D., is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine.

They are co-medical directors of Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, an affiliated practice of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Both survived catastrophic illness through traditional and nontraditional therapies and were at one time general practitioners in small rural communities. They live in Lenox, Massachusetts.
