Reseña del editor:
A lullaby from the beautiful bayou. As the crickets chirp, frogs sing, and mosquitoes drone, dusk falls across the bayou. Mama rocks her baby to the soft symphony as the animals get ready for bedtime. Illustrated in beautifully detailed cut paper, this soothing chorus introduces children to animal sounds and lures them into peaceful slumber.
Nota de la solapa:

"Imaginative cut-paper and collage illustrations with the stylized figures of animals and swamp flora set against dark blue backgrounds enhance the text and give the book distinction."
--School Library Journal

"A tribute to 'the sweet symphonic sounds' of Mother Nature on the bayou, perfect for children from birth to age 4 or even older."
--Midwest Book Review

"[A] quiet and lovely experience of sound play and cut paper and collage illustrations that create the rich and mysterious world of the Louisiana bayou."
--ForeWord magazine

Crickets chirp, snakes hiss, and skeeters buzz as all the animals of the bayou get ready for bedtime. Mama rocks her baby to this soft symphony of sounds, a gentle lull of sweet and rhythmic animal noises. Illustrated in beautifully detailed and textured cut paper and collage, this simple stroll through the swampy wilderness introduces children to the bayou's animal sounds as they fall into peaceful slumber in the warm and loving embrace of Mama.
