Aus dem Klappentext

Think outside the log box!Borrowing from many different construction methods while toning down the use of log resources, the log-element home is coming to the fore. It's a hybrid style incorporating whole-log post-and-beam with old-world timberframe methods. The Not So Log Cabin relies on detailing--such as twig art, log beams, stairs, railings, and support columns--within a conventionally built structure. Mixtures of these elements create a dramatic contrast of rustic logs against a canvas of more delicate materials, including stone and glass.Filled withtips for new construction and remodels, The Not So Log Cabin is the idea book for the next generation of log cabin lovers interested in a greener home, one that respects and utilizes natural resources to their fullest potential.Whatever taste, budget, or level of log detail you envision, you are certain to find a style here that pleases you, as well as guidelines for getting the most out of your log investment.
