Paperback. Zustand: Fine. Revised and expanded edition. A PROFUSELY ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO THE PATTERNS, EVIDENCE, AND THEORIES BEHIND THE CROP-CIRCLE MYSTERY. Andy Thomas presents a visual and chronological survey of the crop-circle phenomenon, tracing its development from comparatively simple formations to the increasingly elaborate geometric designs reported across Britain and elsewhere. PATTERNS WITHOUT AN ANSWER. Written from the position that not all formations can be explained as deliberate human constructions, the book reviews competing theories, field observations, physical effects, eyewitness accounts, scientific investigations, symbolism, and possible sources. Its accessible format and extensive photographic record make it useful both as an introduction and as a period document of crop-circle research at the height of public interest in the phenomenon. BEYOND THE AERIAL VIEW. Thomas considers not only the patterns themselves but also the culture that developed around them. Chapters address the history of the phenomenon, disputed physical evidence, unusual effects reported in affected fields, possible explanations, and the influence of crop circles upon researchers, observers, media, and popular culture. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Large-format softcover measuring approximately 10.25 inches tall. 192 pages with appendices, bibliography, resource listings, index, and author information. Printed throughout on glossy stock. Profusely illustrated with hundreds of captioned color and black-and-white photographs, including aerial views of crop formations, field-level documentation, diagrams, research activity, plant samples, and comparative examples. The text is arranged in a highly visual magazine-style format with photographs integrated throughout. CONDITION: Fine. No Flaws or Blemishes but minimal shelf handling; Gift Quality. CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: DOCUMENTING A MODERN MYSTERY. Crop circles became one of the most recognizable unexplained phenomena of the late twentieth century, joining UFO sightings, anomalous archaeology, and paranormal investigation within a broader culture of alternative inquiry. Thomas records the arguments, personalities, visual evidence, and speculative theories surrounding the phenomenon rather than treating the formations solely as landscape art or practical jokes.
