Inhaltsangabe

Ten years ago, the idea that O- and B-type stars may have self-generated, non-fossil fields was held to be improbable. Recent evidence has shown that weak magnetic fields can be detected in early B- and O-type stars. A winter 2002 conference held to address problems in this area of astrophysics reports on work in topics including construction of a stellar magnetic field on sources and vortices, excitation mechanisms in roAp stars, magnetic Doppler imaging of early-type stars, vertical chromium distribution in the atmospheres of CP stars, the relationship between surface and wind abundances in Bp stars, and emission lines in optical spectra of He-weak stars.
