The Christian and Warfare: The Roots of Pacifism in the Old Testament - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Without making the Old Testament a pacifist book, Enz shows how it prepares the way for the peaceful Messiahship of Jesus in almost every one of its major themes.... The book is simple and speaks immediately to every Christian, and yet the scholar in the field will recognize a great breadth of learning and a profound scholarly integrity behind almost every apparently simple statement."" Waldemar Janzen in The Mennonite Jacob J. Enz, Ph.D., was educated at Bethel College, New York Theological Seminary, Divinity School of the University of Chicago and received his Ph.D. from John Hopkins University. He served as a pastor of the First Mennonite Church in Indiana and served on faculties at Goshen College, Bethel College and the Mennonite Biblical Seminary, IN. He also served as editor of The Mennonite and has contributed to the Journal of Biblical Literature.
