Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: fine. A fine, fresh, unread copy. "First edition, second printing" stated. Hardcover. 4400 with bibliographyIllustrated with photographs. A landmark biography of legendary American football coach Paul Brown, a man who influenced the game more than any other single coach. The story starts with Brown's birth in small-town Ohio, moves through his gridiron days in high school and at Miami University in Ohio. After returning to high school to launch his coaching career, he landed his dream job at Ohio State, where he won a championship. After World War II he became the first head coach of the Cleveland Browns, then in the upstart All-Amewrican Football Conference, and remained with them when they enterted the NFL in 1950. Though at heart a humb le man, he nonetheless demanded control of his teams and rarely forgave an affront, clashing with athletic directors and owners. When he stopped winning, fans and players, especially Jim Brown, called for his removal. Five years later, he became owner, general manager, and head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. Artikel-Nr.
