Jim Motavalli is the editor of E: The Environmental Magazine and a journalist who has written for The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times Syndicate, Salon, and many other publications. He also hosts a public-affairs radio show and teaches journalism at Fairfield University. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Jim Motavalli (born 1952) is a journalist, author, and speaker who specializes in environmental issues, particularly green cars, transportation, and various aspects of sustainable energy. He writes for E The Environmental Magazine, The New York Times as a blogger and columnist, and for various other publications including The Daily Green, NPR, and Mother Nature Network. After serving as its editor for 14 years, Motavalli became a senior writer for E The Environmental Magazine, a publication which aims to bring attention to environmental problems. He writes for The New York Times "Automobiles" section and has a syndicated column called "Wheels", and appears on National Public Radio's Car Talks program. He has twice won the Global Media Award from the Population Institute.
