Jennifer Sinclair is the author of two regional best-sellers, Fiery Dunes and Grant Denied. Born in Kentucky, she lives at Gulf Shores, Alabama, with her husband and her Himalayan cat, Sweetheart. For inspiration, she gathers seashells along the beach in the winter and admires wildflowers in the Colorado Rockies during the summer.

For a few minutes Ben sat quietly, lost in thought. He held his head in his hands that were weathered by work and the brisk sea air. Squaring his jaw, he breathed heavily. Suddenly, he turned lionlike toward his files and snatched up a folder. Within an instant, he tore through its seal.
