This writing program is filled with creative activities that will provide students with writing experiences and help them improve their real-life writing skills. Students will learn how to revise and rewrite, edit, organize their thoughts, have real opportunities for sharing what they write and getting feedback, and have fun with their writing. Units include technical writing, expository writing, letter writing, writing personal essays and essays of opinion, and much more.

Paul Fleisher has taught in the Richmond, Virginia Public Schools' Programs for the Gifted since 1978. He is also the author of more than two dozen books for young people and educators, including the Webs of Life series,Gorillas, Tanglers and Brain Food. His most recent books are Ice Cream Treats: The Inside Scoop, Ants and the five-volume series Secrets of the Universe. He has contributed articles and reviews to Technology and Learning magazine since 1978.Paul is married to educator Debra Sims Fleisher. He is active in civic organizations that work for peace and social justice, including the Richmond Peace Education Center and the Virginia Forum. In 1988 he received the Virginia Education Association's Award for Peace and International Relations, and in 1999 he was awarded the Thomas Jefferson Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Natural Science Education.
Donna Fout has been a teacher for over 25 years. She has extensive experience with gifted learners and is working currently in a Proposed International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in Richmond, Virgina. She is married and has one adult son.
Mary Ann is a happy teacher of middle-school gifted and potentially gifted students in Virginia. She has taught hearing-impaired students as well. She holds degrees in European History and is interested in a host of subjects which find their way into her curricula. Her two grown children live and work in New England where she vacations as often as possible.
