Inhaltsangabe

Am I gentle? It’s not a question we typically stop to ask ourselves. But God cares about the answer. As author Mary Ann Froehlich points out, gentleness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that is supposed to mark the words and actions of every Christian. And as Scripture clearly indicates, it is not an absence of strength or determination. Courageous Gentleness steers us to evaluate our lives through the lens of the Bible and consider practical ways that gentleness speaks to a watching world. Cultivating it in our lives can transform relationships with family members, neighbors, coworkers, and even enemies.

Am I gentle?
It s not a question we typically stop to ask ourselves. But God cares about the answer. Gentleness tenderhearted kindness is one of the qualities that draws many people to God. The New Testament lists it as a characteristic that reveals the Holy Spirit s presence in our lives. So how do we accurately assess whether our lives demonstrate gentleness? Does it equate to being a wimp or pushover? What biblical examples and lessons help us understand what gentleness is and isn t? These and other significant questions are what Mary Ann Froehlich explores in Courageous Gentleness. Gentleness is not a personality trait that some people have and others don t, she points out. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that is supposed to mark the words and actions of every Christian. Drawing from both Old and New Testaments, Courageous Gentleness pushes us to consider practical ways that gentleness speaks to a watching world and how cultivating it in our own lives can transform relationships with family members, neighbors, coworkers, and even enemies.
