Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Alexander Stillmark, who graduated in Modern Languages at Jesus College Cambridge, is Emeritus Reader in German at University College London. A comparative literary scholar and a leading specialist in Austrian Studies, he has published widely on nineteenth and twentieth century topics. His translations both from and into German include: Georg Trakl: Poems and Prose (London, 2001, Evanston Illinois, 2005); GEDICHTE IN PROSA, von der Romantik bis zur Moderne (Frankfurt am Main, 2013); Hugo von Hofmannsthal, An Impossible Man (Cambridge, 2016); Adalbert Stifter, Tales of Old Vienna and Other Prose (Riverside, California, 2016); and HUGO VON HOFMANNSTHAL, THE INCORRUPTIBLE SERVANT (Modern Humanitites Research Association, 2021). He has three times been awarded a translation prize by the Federal Chancellor's Bureau, Austria.
