The collection, housed at the Thomas Cooper Library at the University of South Carolina since 1997, is an archive of approximately 4000 items of literary, historical, and cultural import from World War I, named for Bruccoli, who was wounded in the war. It is comprised of training manuals, magazines, trench newspapers, novels, poetry, letters, diaries, postcards, scrapbooks, photo albums, slides, sheet music, recordings, videos, maps, and posters from the US, Great Britain, France, Italy, Poland, Russia, and Austria. Sudduth (Thomas Cooper Library, U. of South Carolina) provides an inventory to the collection of items added through August 2004, organized by material type and listing bibliographical information and Library of Congress catalog number.
