Mark Grand (mgrand@mindspring.com) is a Java consultant, speaker, and instructor. He teaches classes on Java, develops Java-based software, and advises companies on how to best use Java-related technology with databases, networks, and electronic commerce. In addition to writing the Java Language Reference, Mark is the author of the Java Fundamental Classes Reference. Prior to his involvement with Java, Mark worked for ten years as a designer and implementor of fourth-generation programming languages.
