Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

J. Frank Norfleet bore all of the expenses during his four-year campaign, which totaled many thousands of dollars, with the exception of approximately three hundred dollars contributed by the states of Texas and Colorado. He trusted his fellow man as he himself could be trusted, and to him all law was infallible, until he saw manmade laws set aside by men as lightly as pawns in a game of chess.

Von der hinteren Coverseite

The wild Texas frontier, swindling con men, and an over-thirty-thousand-mile chase across two continents are all components of this amazing true story about one man's quest for justice. J. Frank Norfleet, a real-life John Wayne, literally takes the law into his own hands as he sets out on a four-year chase to capture a gang of greedy double-dealers.

Norfleet begins in the fall of 1919, when this real-life cowboy discovers that he had been swindled out of $45,000 and left with $90,000 of debt. Determined to catch con men Joe Furey, E. J. Ward, W. B. Spencer, Charles Gerber, and Reno Hamlin, Norfleet finds himself on a wild-goose chase across the Western Hemisphere. With no help from the government, Norfleet single-handedly funds the four-year expedition, all in the name of justice. He draws from his experiences as an avid hunter in the Texas frontier as he embarks on a search for five scam artists.

Norfleet's amazing adventure takes the reader on an inspiring journey from the Atlantic to the Pacific, into Mexico, then to Cuba, and even into Canada. With North and South America serving as the backdrop for this exciting game of catch-me-if-you-can, one can't help but get caught up in a plot as scandalous and exciting as most works of fiction.
