Jun 06 The sub title for this book is - Quick Projects for Generous Giving. The author makes quick quilts to donate to childrens charities. The quilts she makes are - in her words 'Made to die of old age' They are not precious, but made to be loved and give comfort to anyone in need of a cuddle. The projects are simple to follow and she makes good use of scrap fabrics and produces cheerful, colourful and comforting items which end up being loved to bits. There are skill levels from novice to beginner, but the ideas for blocks and patterns could be developed further by experienced quilters. The emphasis is on making serviceable items from good quality fabrics. She includes basic quilt techniques in an easily understandable way to help out beginners. Thery are some excellent sample quilts illustrated which are not too intimidating for novices. Karin Renaud makes it all very simple and it would be very rewarding to complete one of these projects.
