As a teacher-turned-author, Kathryn has worked a great deal with children. Kathryn has a Bachelor of Science degree in vocal music education. She taught preschool, kindergarten, and elementary kids for seven years, then turned to full-time writing. As a volunteer teacher with the Los Angeles Watts Unit YWCA, she worked with the children of Jordan Downs housing community, and used their personalities to create the main characters in her Good News Club series, published by CEF PRESS. The boys and girls in her books face dangers and frustrations--street gangs, illegal drugs, poverty. But they find joy in friendship and the love God can bring to soft hearts in a hard world.
